Ok my new normal is definitely now abnormal
Apologies I maybe a quiet for a while……

I am struggling to type with only my left hand as my right is supposed to be immobilised until I get a proper cast. It is so boring this broken arm lark. The highlight was being able to get my bra on. Now for some of you that may not be too much of a problem but when you have in the words of Mother “dangling dugs”, you guessed it, she was a very kind caring and nurturing parent, a bra is a very useful and essential piece of kit a) to keep them under control and b) not trip up over them and break my other arm. Yes I do have very short legs. Anyway needless to say I am very relieved they are under control.
I have realised there are many things I can’t do. Cut my food up - menus are problematic but glad my local farm shop cafe knows me well when I went with a friend they cut my toasted sarnie up into non drip pieces. Cooking - son doing brilliantly but why do men use every pot, pan and bowl. Walking Mildred and picking her 💩 up at the same time, she is on the lead so it takes two trips, bring her back, get bag, go back, find and pick up 💩. Impossible to get a French Bulldog out of the kitchen bin when face down (see above) I now have to keep the bin taped down. Bonnie would happily stay like that until she had eaten everything, favourite snack at the moment - a bar of soap. I cannot write with my left hand, by the time I master it I hope I will be back to normal. Waking up, getting out of bed, washed, dressed and up in 10 minutes - improvement this morning only 45 minutes. It does all make me realise how lucky I am to have the use of both arms normally.
I am also annoyed that I have to admit AI has its uses with one handed typing. I may just leave all suggested replacements in such as - suggest Edwards - came up when I started writing suggested, who on earth is Edwards????
No driving for 6-8weeks =-2 weeks, no it doesn’t mean that AI, it means cancel life for relevant time or learn to use a bus if I can find one. Was it a coincidence that I got my bus pass last month or am I psychic?
Anyway that’s all for now folks. Any suggestions for one handed, non dominant hand, activities sensible or silly gratefully received.
I will post when I can, however, they are likely to be even more eclectic, eccentric and curmudgeonly than usual. On the plus side the rabbits 🐇 will have a peaceful few weeks 😂.
What a nuisance for you Jo, I do empathise. Maybe an opportunity to read the books you've always wanted to read, but never had the time or just have a stroll in the sunshine...raining hard here today! Sending hugs and take care xx
Oh dear. I offer the suggestion of using notes for writing (I do on my phone) but use the microphone option & the words arrive ... on the notes & mostly well spelled & understood!
