I am at the bragging stage. 82 and standing on my head. Come have a look at The Granny who Stands on Her Head.

My centre of gravity definitely does not allow for standing on my head 😁

These things always seem to happen in multiples don’t they? If it makes you feel any better, my dishwasher tripped out the electrics last week and gave up. A new one arrived on Wednesday but after two cycles also decided to not drain properly. So back the company came on Monday to have another look. Fixed it, they said, until an hour or so later when the drainage issue reared its head again. Yesterday they came back with a replacement and so far so good, but I’m not holding my breath. It turns out I really despise washing up (a first world problem, I know).

On the plus side, Jo, an opportunity to redesign your bathroom perhaps? Let me know if I can help in any way! Xxx

How’s the electrics holding up Hannah? I do hope the drains are behaving as well. Plumber coming on Friday to discuss redesign. May well come for advice on colour scheme and tiles 😁😘😘

The electrics are fine but the plumbing has caused some issues. The company came back four times in total and we're still not certain it's fixed completely!

I would be delighted to help with colour scheme and tiles if and when xxx

I can sympathize, Jo. I view my living space as a constantly sinking ship that I'm just incessantly scooping buckets of water out of. It doesn't even bother me anymore. My mind has acclimated to it. I have the wobbly table, the stove with a bad burner, and the "don't sit in that one because one of the legs is about to give" chair. I've somehow accepted this fate and have found my peace among the chaos.

But the kettle. Yeah, that would properly piss me off.

What is builder's tea? (asking from the USA)

Yes to stretching and gentle movement in the morning. I don't reach for any arthritis pill before stretching and moving the affected joints gently to awaken the synovial fluid. The first trip down the stairs in the morning is always achy, but it gets better about an hour later without medication.

Builders tea is so strong you could stand a spoon up in it… so the saying goes, 2 tea bags in a mug xxxx

A friend in London recommended PG Tips to me and that is all I drink now. But because I am sometimes plagued by benign palpitations, my GP suggested I limit caffeine. So I brew a 12 ounce mug with one regular and one decaf PG tips. I now understand the difference between the way caffeine in coffee revs me up and the way the caffeine in tea makes me alert but without the jitters.

First, stretching (in bed, I'm not a monster), then tea

UGH! I hear you, Jo! It feels so unreasonable when all of these things come at once, doesn't it?

The kettle would have tipped me over the edge, too. I NEED my tea........

We COUNT on these little things to keep our life afloat, so when they go *tilt* we more than tilt - we go off the edge. For me it is usually my laptop and the internet. My laptop is getting old and I don't have the money for a new one. Some days it just does not feel like starting and I will have to cold reboot multiple times. Then it takes almost 30 minutes to be usable, so a huge time sucker. I finally talked to a rep about the internet and was told the problem was using wireless. If I plugged into the router with a cord I would have speed and no interruptions. Of course, the router is two rooms away . . .

The really fun stuff is replacing the flooring under the hall bathroom toilet - twice. How does this happen? Are toilets and sewage pipes designed so poorly as to fail frequently? We're talking toxic human waste here. Seems like they'd have it down to a science by now. Then there was the $1200 I spent on the blocked sewage line, only to have it stop again a couple of weeks later. Called a different guy - with a camera - who quickly cleared and scoped it for only $200. Who scams an old lady for two days over a blocked line that is later cleared in a matter of minutes?

Yep, some days it is just not worth getting up.
