Failed at the first hurdle……….
Grey cell moment
I am going to start this newsletter, with determination, avoiding procrastination and learning along the way. BUT my rapidly diminishing little grey cells are getting in my way. They now cannot cope with my old f&rt attitude of jump straight in with both feet, before reading the instructions.
When I was a normal human being, rather than the eccentric dog woman I am now, I told myself I didn’t have time to read instructions, with varying results. Firstly, ovens - my cakes never recovered, ok, they were always rubbish but I do make brilliant stews/roasts, flat-packs - drawers, and wardrobes, tended to hold clothes for about 2 weeks, cars - journeys in subzero temperatures with no heating because I couldn’t find the right button. In my defence flat pack instructions were never worth reading & who has time to read car handbooks from cover to cover.
The excuses of being too busy, having far more important things or I’ll do it after work are no longer valid. So, honestly not procrastinating, I am going to make this short foray into my world the first post. I will leave it here and disappear into the complexities of understanding how to make the best use of Substack. Hopefully to return ………

Hi Alison, sorry I only just realised it was, thank you so much for subscribing. I have no idea where this will go but thought it might be a nice thing to promote a different aging space …….
I’m with you on instructions. Much to my other half’s annoyance. I see it as a challenge - which usually it ends up being, more so than if I’d taken the time to read them. And time is too limited. But then when the plan works, without reading them, it’s a smug small win!
