Ah, I remember Algernon! In this post you've brought him out of his sinister, lurky shadows and he's shown himself - both to you and to us - what a bully he is!

Writer Jo is awesome, and Algernon knows it. Remind him!!!!!! xxx

I am absolutely and totally impressed that you have written so much! I can never get past one chapter 🤔

Humphrey is such a good boy. Maybe you can train him to take on Algernon. 😄

The only problem is that Humphrey is scared of his own shadow. Unless you are a spaniel eyeing up his ball 😁😘😘

This is absolutely hilarious Jo, I think we all have an Algernon but not one as dapper as yours. If he comes back tomorrow tell him to bugger off and find a new milliner. 🤣

Dear Jo, I was beginning to worry about you until I realized you would ultimately win; the Algernon would brushed off your shoulder, and you will continue your delightful prose until finished and published.

I do admit, speaking of myself now, that arguing with myself is far more difficult than with another.

I've been horribly distracted from my writing this month until I realized a couple of days ago that August has always, for some reason, been my worse month for me to properly function. With the coming of month's end I can feel the weight of August beginning to lift the fog from my brain.

Thank you for being you.

Thank you as ever Richard,

The old curmudgeon, that is me, will always win well possibly, maybe, on occasions. I know what you mean about certain months. Sometimes there is no reason other times it is because of memories being stirred up.

Look after yourself and brush off the August blues 😘😘

Most of us have someone on our shoulder or just behind us, second guessing us and putting us down and I find it interesting that you have given yours a name. Perhaps that enables you to fight the negative comments. I wonder if naming mine might be a useful experiment. I’m pondering what to call her…
