Hi Jo. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friend and visited some great places and some great people. I can relate to the Road Closed signs. They pop up everywhere here in Herefordshire (remember when we first met on Substack, I thought you lived here too, then discovered you live in Hertfordshire!) Anyway, there are so many potholes in our roads, it's like jalopy racing until the Council decide to close an entire stretch of road. Consequently, a 45 minute detour every time we want to travel 10 minutes down the road. Bonkers! Anyway, great to have you back and I always enjoy your posts. x
Thank you Rosy, I remember our original exchange of messages and wish Herefordshire and Hertfordshire were nearer. Don't get me started on pot holes 🕳️. The pot holes disappear overnight by the hasty get it done quickly elfs to reappear a couple of months later. Ours is mainly broadband and water companies at the moment. There's no cordination 🤬😘😘
I genuinely had wondered if you were OK Jo and it's good to hear from you. We've never had a dog and it's amazing how many people we see (our age) who have at least one dog. Nearly every caravan, motorhome and narrow boat we've seen recently has a pooch! It sounds like you've had a lovely few weeks and enjoy the sunshine 🌞 xx
Thank you Karen, the plan for me was to have one dog but then Mildred defied all the odds and is now 5 years past her sell buy date and managing quite happily with 1/2 a functioning kidney and a special diet. I got Humphrey thinking he would be company for her in her last says . Nobody believes me she’s ill but her last scan 18 months ago confirmed one kidney was useless and the other badly deformed. She is a major character and helped me through so much, but together they are mad. 😘😘
Love the image of you as an ‘old age Lewis Hamilton’! 👏👏👏
Great post! 😘
Thanks Kate 😘😘
She's defying all the odds and life sounds like fun with all their antics 😅😘
While I also missed you, it was great to hear you had a friend visiting and took some trips! Always good to get shaken out of one’s routine.
As they say Louisa a change is as good as a rest. 😘
Great to see you back here . I’ve missed your musings. I saw Lenny Henry many years ago at The Hackney Empire / one of the funniest evenings ever xx
Thank you Sharon, he was funny and do natural 😘
Good to have you back. xxx
Thank you Anna 😘
